Meet the family: K-State Celebrates coming to Wichita area Sept. 19
Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016
MANHATTAN — Kansas State University invites high school students from the Wichita area to learn more about college life at a special event.
K-State Celebrates, a showcase for future students, will be 7:15-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at the Wichita Marriott, 9100 Corporate Hills Drive. Check-in for this free event starts at 6:45 p.m. Parents and friends are welcome.
"K-State Celebrates continues to bring a slice of our university to the Wichita area," said Pat Bosco, vice president for student life and dean of students. "Current students, academic advisers and student life staff join K-State parents and alumni to make this a hands-on celebration of what makes our school a very special place."
Bosco will discuss opportunities available at the university. Joining him will be representatives from K-State's nine academic colleges, who will provide information on the university's academic programs and options. Information about student services, including housing and dining, Greek life, student financial assistance and multicultural student organizations, also will be offered.
"This event is a great way for students from the Wichita area to find out about everything K-State has to offer in one fun, informative evening," said Chayce Wynn, K-State admissions representative. "We highly recommend K-State Celebrates to high school students and their parents who want to learn more about choosing a college and to see what being part of the K-State family is all about."
At the event, students can sign up for a campus visit and ask questions of admissions representatives and student ambassadors. At least one high school senior will receive a $250 textbook scholarship for his or her first semester at K-State.
