December brings sights, sounds of the season to Kansas State University

MANHATTAN — Celebrate the holiday season with music, dance and more at Kansas State University.
The following cultural events, sponsored by the university’s McCain Performance Series, Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, and the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, are free, unless otherwise noted.
• Join the K-State dance program for "WinterDance 2016," a showcase of exciting dance styles, including jazz, tap, modern and African, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1-2 and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Mark A. Chapman Theatre in Nichols Hall. Tickets are available at ksu.universitytickets.com.
• The Trumpet Ensemble Concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in All Faiths Chapel.
• The Ten Tenors, one of Australia's most successful touring groups, will present "Home for the Holidays" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in McCain Auditorium as part of the McCain Performance Series. • The piano studio of Slawomir Dobrzanski Piano Studio will have a recital at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship Hall, 481 Zeandale Road, Manhattan.
• Bailey Eisenbraun and Trace Woods will present a percussion recital at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in McCain Auditorium's Kirmser Hall.
• Samuel Fifield will present a piano recital at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in All Faiths Chapel.
• Join the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art for the Holiday Workshop for All Ages from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Beach Museum. An extravaganza of winter-themed art activities will be offered to celebrate the season. The cost is $5 per person; children must be accompanied by an adult.
• The K-State Holiday Choral Concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at McCain Auditorium.
• Virginia Houser, associate professor of piano, will present a recital at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in McCain Auditorium's Kirmser Hall.
• The K-State Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in All Faiths Chapel.
• Samuel Wilson, tenor, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in McCain Auditorium's Kirmser Hall.
• The Dance Student Spotlight will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Mark A Chapman Theatre in Nichols Hall.
• The K-State Orchestra will present a concert 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in McCain Auditorium.
• The K-State Brass Ensemble and Concert Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in All Faiths Chapel.
• The guitar class recital will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, in the Little Theatre at the K-State Student Union.
• Get a good laugh with comedian Brian Regan at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, in McCain Auditorium. Tickets to this McCain Performance Series event are available at the McCain Auditorium box office, by calling 785-532-6428, or online at k-state.edu/mccain.
• The Holiday Extravaganza, hosted by the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance Advisory Council, will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Wareham Opera House, 410 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan.
