Irish musical group Danú performs March 7 at McCain Auditorium

MANHATTAN — The McCain Performance Series is bringing a bit of the Emerald Isle to Kansas State University with a performance by the musical group Danú at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 7, in McCain Auditorium.
Danú offers an authentic Irish experience by using traditional instruments, including the flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion and bouzouki. The group mixes ancient Irish music with contemporary works.
Hailing from County Waterford, Danú is one of the leading traditional Irish ensembles of today. Winners of numerous awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, the group has toured throughout Europe, the Middle East and North America, with stops at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Symphony Space in New York City and major concert engagements in the United Kingdom, India, Israel and across Europe.
