Refresher course for hazardous waste operations July 19 at Kansas State University

MANHATTAN — Kansas State University's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training, known as HAZWOPER, will offer its eight-hour refresher course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 19.
HAZWOPER is designed for any Kansas employee working at treatment, storage and disposal facilities as well as hazardous waste cleanup sites. The eight-hour refresher course is offered to any individual who has previously completed the 40-hour training course. Participants for both courses can include faculty and students.
The refresher course will include Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety elements and will requalify participants to work appropriately with hazardous materials in the field and in the laboratory. A certificate of completion will be awarded at the end of the course.
Kansas State University has offered HAZWOPER since 1994 to satisfy the OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.120 requirements and to keep first responders of hazardous waste emergencies safe and certified.
