MANHATTAN — The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State University is one of more than 2,000 Blue Star Museums across the United States offering free admission to military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Because the Beach Museum of Art offers free admission year-round, the museum is participating further by offering a $10 Military Family Friends Membership. This provides military families with a 50 percent discount on classes and workshops and one gift per family for children under 12. The museum will also host two portrait workshops and summer programming for families.
"We are pleased to honor our area military families," said Kathrine Schlageck, the museum’s senior educator. "We hope to see lots of new families this summer."
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration of the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the U.S. Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across the nation. To find participating museums, visit http://arts.gov/national/blue-star-museums.
This is the latest National Endowment for the Arts program to bring quality arts to the military, veterans and their families.
