Hot ticket for hot jazz: First Hot Sardines show a sellout, but tickets remain for second show
Friday, Oct. 16, 2015
MANHATTAN — New Orleans jazz is coming to Manhattan's Wareham Opera House, 410 Poyntz Ave., thanks to the Kansas State University's McCain Performance Series' presentation of The Hot Sardines — Speakeasy Nights on Friday, Oct. 23.
The group's 7 p.m. performance is a sellout, but seats are still available for the 10 p.m. performance.
Bandleader Evan "Bibs" Palazzo and lead singer Miz Elizabeth combine with the Sardines' ensemble of musicians and the group's very own tap dancer to play hot jazz as it was in the era when live music was king. Even while giving voice to the history-defining jazz of the '20s, '30s, and '40s, the Hot Sardines' performances bridge generations for today's audiences.
Tickets for The Hot Sardines — Speakeasy Nights start at $17.50, plus applicable taxes and fees, and are available now at the McCain Auditorium box office, online at k-state.edu/mccain, or by calling 785-532-6428.
