Wynton Marsalis leads Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra for McCain performance Sept. 25

MANHATTAN — It's an evening of big band jazz when the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis performs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Kansas State University's McCain Auditorium.
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, critically acclaimed all over the world, is composed of 15 of jazz music's leading soloists under the leadership of musical director Marsalis, recognized as one of the most outstanding jazz musicians of his generation. This McCain Performance Series presentation will draw from an extensive repertoire that includes original compositions by Marsalis, Ted Nash and other members of the orchestra, as well as the masterworks of Ellington, Mingus, Coltrane and other great jazz composers.
