2006 Season for NV Press Release
The Season for Nonviolence gives us time to focus on decreasing violence in our lives and our communities by learning to practice nonviolence. Season for Nonviolence started in 1998 as an international grassroots campaign dedicated to demonstrating that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities. It is now celebrated in over 100 cities, during the 64 days between the anniversaries of the assassinations of Mahatma Gandhi (Jan 30th) and Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. (April 4th). A schedule of our own 64-day celebration follows. |
