The Kansas Population Center is the center of population studies at Kansas State University. Reorganized from the former Population Research Laboratory of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Work, it connects demography to various fields of social and natural sciences.

New MSS 09 Meeting Session: Population Change and Community Development
Session Organizer: Benjamin C. Bolender
We invite papers to a new Midwest Sociologial Society session dealing with almost any facet of population change and how it impacts community development. Topics include fertility, mortality, migration, aging, rural towns, urban neighborhoods, economic change, or cultural norms among others. If you are interested, please submit your abstract at: http://www.meetingsavvy.com/mss by October 17. If you have any questions, contact the organizer at bolender@ksu.edu .

Laszlo J. Kulcsar presented "Graying of the Plains: Aging and community development in Kansas" at the Nebraska-Kansas Cooperative Extension Retreat in Rock Springs. The handout of the talk can be downloaded from here.
