Welti spotlighted by AAAS

The American Association for the Advancement of Science, or AAAS, the world's largest scientific society, has selected Ruth Welti, university distinguished professor in the Division of Biology, for a member spotlight.
The spotlight features the association's members through profiles, features and "Five Things about Me" series.
Welti, one of 20 K-State AAAS fellows, discusses why she became a scientist, what fuels her passion and her daughter's rap video about water bears.
The recognition of Welti by AAAS also helps K-State toward its goal of becoming a Top 50 public research university.
"It was fun to 'be in the spotlight,' and I'm glad it provides some exposure for K-State research programs and facilities," Welti said.
