Sigma Xi recognizes three graduate students for their research
The K-State chapter of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, is honoring two graduate students with research awards.
Phillip Freda Jr., entomology, is receiving an award for his planned project "Tests for genetic constraints across ontogeny in the thermal physiology of Drosophila melanogaster" and Kimberly O'Keefe, biology, is receiving an award for her planned project "The ecological significance of nocturnal transpiration." These students join Michael Vega, geology, who won an Sigma Xi award in national competition for his planned work on "Geochemical and microbial assessment of As and Mn impaired groundwaters, Murshidabad, West Bengal, India."
