Changes to grade roster for spring 2012
As noted in the March 1 edition of K-State Today, a federal mandate from the U.S. Department of Education requires Kansas State University to verify that students who received federal financial aid are actively engaged in their course work. In order to accomplish this requirement, the grade roster has been modified to allow faculty to select an affirmative or negative response to this question of participation in any academic-related activity. This Participation Validation must only be performed for students to whom an “F” or “NC” grade has been awarded. The Participation Validation can only be performed in iSIS, not K-State Online. Directions for entering grades and the Participation Validation can be found at the iSIS Final Grade Submission Information webpage.
In addition to the Participation Validation change, the grade roster will now offer an electronic grade change option. On the afternoon following the posting of grades, a Request Grade Change link will appear on the grade roster. Grades can be changed by the faculty via the Request Grade Change link for up to five years following the posting of the original roster. Any missed Participation Validation responses may be submitted via this method as well. In-person training will be available on April 25 and 30 and May 1, 3. Go to HRIS Employee Self Service to sign up.
Grade rosters will be available in iSIS for grade entry after 5 p.m. Friday, May 4. Grades for the spring 2012 term are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 15. The deadline to copy grades from K-State Online into iSIS is 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 15.
