Security studies doctoral student selected for nuclear history workshop

Submitted by David Stone

Rabia Akhtar, doctoral student in security studies, was selected from among 130 applicants to be one of 16 junior scholars attending a workshop on nuclear history. The Woodrow Wilson Center's Nuclear Proliferation International History Project will have its 2014 Nuclear Boot Camp in May near Rome, Italy.

The camp will involve extensive work in the history of nuclear proliferation and arms control agreements, as well as training in archival research.

Akhtar's own research looks at the history of American nonproliferation policy, particularly in regard to the India-Pakistan arms race.
