KSIS unavailable July 29-31
Submitted by Information Technology Services
KSIS, K-State's Student Information System, will be unavailable at 5 p.m. Friday, July 29, through Sunday, July 31, while Information Technology Services migrates the system to the new converged infrastructure. KSIS will be available as soon as the migration has been completed. Users can check the ITS Status page for updates.
During the past year Information Technology Services has been working to overhaul K-State's aging information technology infrastructure. The process of modernizing the data center combines servers, storage, networking, virtualization and management in a single managed solution referred to as a converged infrastructure.
The converged infrastructure is in support of the K-State 2025 Facilities and Infrastructure theme to provide facilities and infrastructure that meet our evolving needs at a competitive level with our benchmark institutions and are an asset to recruit and retain quality students, faculty, researchers and staff.
One of the most complex parts of the project is migrating K-State applications to the new infrastructure. KSIS is the third system to be migrated. The Financial Information System and the Degree Audit Reporting System, DARS, are already live on the new converged infrastructure.
