Anthropology Sapiens Symposium and student awards ceremony

K-State's anthropology program will highlight its students and alumni at two signature events Thursday, April 27.
Anthropology majors will discuss their experiences and research at the Sapiens Symposium at 1 p.m. April 24 in 105 Umberger Hall. Garrett Wilkinson will present "Live from Malawi"; Jakob Hanschu will present "Archaeology Field Schools" and "The Snowball Effect"; Karen Palacios, will present "Hispanics in Higher Ed"; Matt Rogers will present "Etheogens for Drug Addiction"; Bridget Lynch will present "South Africa"; and Maggie Anderson will present "Volunteering Abroad."
The alumni spotlights and a student awards ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. April 27 in 350 Waters Hall. Visiting alumni include Nathaniel Bozarth, BA '12 Brainroot Light and Sound; Ryan Klataske, Bachelor of Arts '06 Michigan State University; Tobin Roop, Bachelor of Science '01, National Park Service; and Rebecca Roth, Bachelor of Arts '07, The Sound HQ. Annual awards for anthropology students and recognition of 2016-2017 graduating majors will follow.
