Submitted by David Stone

Saad Alsubaie, doctoral student in security studies, has been offered a position as a distinguished international security studies fellow at the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations.

The National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations, http://ncusar.org, a nonprofit, nongovernmental, educational organization, works to deepen American knowledge and understanding of the Arab world.

Alsubaie, a native of Saudi Arabia, came to Kansas State University's Ph.D program in security studies after several years' service in the Saudi police. His dissertation, written under the supervision of Professor Dale Herspring, will explore the international and transnational roots of violent extremism in Saudi Arabia.
