Student loan debt relief found in rural Kansas

Submitted by Robert Gamez

There's good news for Kansas State University graduates who seek to make their home in rural Kansas. Graduates who establish residency in one of 50 designated Kansas counties are now afforded the opportunity to apply for student loan debt relief of up to $15,000 as part of the Rural Opportunity Zones initiative by the Kansas Department of Commerce.

"As the state's designated land-grant institution we believe this initiative truly represents a win-win for K-State graduates and the state as whole," said Larry Moeder, assistant vice president for student financial assistance and undergraduate admissions. Details for this state initiative can be found online at Rural Opportunity Zones.
