Sesquicentennial preparations to be focus of Feb. 7 Communicators Brownbag

Submitted by Katie Mayes

The Communicators Brownbag series will kick off this semester with a panel about Kansas State University's 150th anniversary. The brownbag will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in Room 227 of the K-State Student Union.

Jackie Hartman, sesquicentennial chair, chief of staff and director of community relations, and Megan Umscheid, project coordinator, will give the group an overview of the universitywide preparations for the anniversary. Following their presentation a panel consisting of academic units and other campus groups will talk about their sesquicentennial preparations and share ideas.

The panel will include:
• Jane Marshall from the College of Human Ecology
• Cindi Morris and Richard Prudenti from the Beach Museum
• Donna Ekart or Darchelle Martin from K-State Libraries
• Audrey Taggart-Kagdis from K-State Student Union

The Communicators Brownbag series is designed to inform and connect communicators across campus. Save the date for March's brown bag, to be March 14 in the Union's Cottonwood Room. Topic to be announced.
