Three students from Kansas State University have earned the $500 International Graduate Student Scholarship from the Konza and Manhattan Rotary clubs. This annual scholarship is awarded to graduate students based on academic achievement, the benefit of graduate training to their country and financial need.

The 2013 scholarship recipients are doctoral students:

Xiangdong Li, China, in anatomy and physiology in the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Iveta Kesane, Latvia, in the department of sociology, anthropology and social work.

Rotary is a global organization of business and professional leaders focusing on peace and conflict resolution, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, literacy and economic development. Rotary is close to realizing the worldwide eradication of polio. The International Graduate Student Scholarship is one way that local clubs build goodwill and international understanding.
