High achievers: K-State Salina students earn awards for outstanding work

For the 27th year, Kansas State University Salina has recognized students for outstanding academic achievements, dedication, leadership and community service.

Students earning recognition for the 2012-2013 school year include:

Scott Mall, senior in professional pilot, Clay Center, Wildcat Pride for Dedication Award; Shelby Dickson, senior in family studies and human services, Gypsum, Wildcat Pride for Community Service Award; Greg Fotovich, senior in technology management and airport management, Kansas City, Kan., Outstanding Student in Technology Management; Adam Svoboda, senior in computer systems technology and technology management, Marion, Outstanding Student in Computer Systems Technology; Luke Friesen, sophomore in aviation maintenance, McPherson, Outstanding Student in Aviation Maintenance; and Jesse Huber, senior in mechanical engineering technology, Morrowville, Outstanding Student in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

From Salina: Matt Balderree, senior in unmanned aircraft systems, Outstanding Student in Unmanned Aircraft Systems; Rachael Capsey, senior in family studies and human services, Outstanding Student in Family Studies and Human Services; Kinneth Hurst, senior in electronic and computer engineering technology; Outstanding Student in Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology; and Anna Keith, sophomore in accounting, Most Inspirational Student Award.

Ryan Wilson, junior in computer systems technology, Towanda, Outstanding Student in Construction Engineering Technology; and Patricia Weisbender, junior in electronic and computer engineering technology, Wamego, Outstanding Student in Chemistry.
