Nominations for 2014 K-State Student Ambassadors open now

Submitted by Gavin Hargrave

2013 K-State Student Ambassadors Jordan Priddle and Tyler Johnson

As the fall semester hits full stride, the time to plan and promote Homecoming Week 2013 has come. One of the most important events taking place during Homecoming Week at Kansas State University is the election of the two K-State Student Ambassadors — one male and one female — who represent the university at a variety of events organized by the K-State Alumni Association and the president's office. The K-State Alumni Association is asking for your help in reaching out to qualified students who possess tremendous school spirit and pride to apply for the student ambassador position.

In order to make the process easier, you can make nominations online at www.K-State.com/StudentAmbassadors. You can find a description of the student ambassador position, a sample application and a nomination form there. You can also print off a nomination form from that Web page or print the form and mail it back to the Alumni Center. Please provide the necessary contact information of students who you believe would be outstanding candidates and interested in this position. Feel free to pass this along to others who would have possible nominations to make.

The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. Students who are nominated will be notified by mail with a 2014 Student Ambassador application and will have the option to complete the application via the K-State Alumni Association website.

A panel of students, faculty and staff select student ambassador finalists through an interview process. The finalists are then up for election by the student body during Homecoming Week. Candidates will be judged by their enthusiasm for K-State, leadership skills and university involvement.

Thank you for helping promote this fun and honored position that will represent Kansas State University in the coming year. If you have any questions contact Gavin Hargrave, the K-State Student Ambassador adviser, at 785-532-5057 or ghargrave@k-state.com.
