Lockdown lifted: Kansas State University at Manhattan now open
MANHATTAN — The lockdown at Kansas State University's Manhattan campus has been lifted. Classes and normal campus operations resumed at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4.
Students and employees should report for class and work as normal.
About the situation
Around 4 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, a possible armed suspect was seen on the south side of the Kansas State University Manhattan campus. This prompted a lockdown of the Manhattan campus for all students, staff and faculty members. K-State Police searched buildings and areas on campus where the suspect was seen. No suspect was located on the Manhattan campus. K-State Police determined that the suspect had left the area.
Notifications to campus have been shared by email, text messages, phone, local media outlets and social media.
