Jürgen Richt is a pioneering veterinary scientist, with a focus on mitigating the potentially high threats that some animal diseases pose to agriculture and humans at large.
Richt has recently led research on H5N1, an influenza virus among dairy cattle that has affected more than 200 dairy cattle operations in 14 states. That work has sought to identify methods of virus transmission and potential options to mitigate that spread.
