Safe Ride

SafeRide operated by Lyft provides all students on the Manhattan campus free or discounted late-night rides within the city limits during the eligible windows utilizing the Lyft app. SafeRide is a program funded by students for students through the Student Services Fee and we heard your calls for a program that meets your immediate needs and safety concerns. We are always looking to make improvements to better serve the K-State student body, so if you have feedback, please share with us via email at saferide@ksu.edu.

Wildcat Walk

If you are ever uncomfortable walking on campus alone, dial 785-395-SAFE (785-395-7233), and an escort will meet you and walk you to another on-campus destination or up to two blocks off-campus. If you are driving to campus you can arrange to be met in your parking lot and be escorted to the residence halls or another location. Simply call 395-SAFE (785-395-7233), or push one of the blue light emergency buttons found throughout the K-State campus. This service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Wildcat Walk is a service provided by the K-State Police Department.

Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVACK)

DVACK provides the K-State Salina campus and Salina community free, confidential, 24-hour assistance, advocacy, hotline services and safe shelter for those who have experienced sexual or domestic violence.

Salina Counseling Services

Students have access to phone counseling through Counseling Services on the Manhattan campus. Students can also seek professional counseling from one of our off-campus community facilities. Professional counseling is provided by Central Kansas Mental Health Center (CKMHC) or Veridian Behavioral Health in Salina. Both CKMHC and Veridian offer comprehensive mental health services and a full continuum of care for community members. Crisis Assistance

Student Support and Accountability coordinates resources and mobilizes services to respond to the needs of students in crisis. Assistance is given to students to help accurately assess their situation, provide information and teach the skills students need to navigate crises. Additionally, a number of services are provided to students to assist with medical and personal emergencies and in the event of hospitalization. Finding Courage and Hope: Financial Support for Women Experiencing Domestic Violence

Domestic violence or intimate partner violence impacts people of any race, age, gender or economic status. Violence can be physical, verbal, emotional and psychological. But financial abuse is one of the most common reasons that individuals of violence stay in or return to their relationships. The Kansas City Anti-Violence Project (KCAVP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation committed to providing domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate crimes advocacy and education to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community.

LGBT National Help Center

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) National Help Center, founded in 1996, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that provides vital peer-support, community connections and resource information to people with questions regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Utilizing a diverse group of LGBT volunteers, we operate three national hotlines, the LGBT National Hotline, the LGBT National Youth Talkline, and the LGBT National Senior Hotline as well as private, volunteer one-to-one online chat, that helps both youth and adults with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems and a lot more.

The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV) is Kansas’ leading statewide voice for victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence. KCSDV is a statewide nonprofit organization – and coalition – with the mission of preventing and eliminating sexual and domestic violence.
