Transfer opportunities

In addition to general university scholarships and awards, incoming transfer students may apply for additional scholarship through the K-State Scholarship Network (KSN). The awards below highlight some of those specific opportunities. All transfer students are encourage to submit their application through KSN.

Transfer Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Award

The PTK Award is a one-time non-renewable award for students transferring directly from community colleges. In addition to one general university scholarship or award, students may be considered for the PTK Award. Membership in PTK must be established and confirmed by the end of last FULL semester at transfer institution. To be awarded, students must indicate that they are a PTK member on their application for admission.

  • Value: $1,000 one-time, nonrenewable award
  • Eligibility: Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above from transfer institution(s) required. Student must also be a PTK member during the last semester prior to attending K-State (will be verified with state PTK association).


Alumni Association Legacy scholarship

For students whose parent, step-parent, grandparent or legal guardian is a K-State graduate, the university scholarship committee awards a limited number of Alumni Association Legacy Scholarships.

Preference is given to students who have an eligible family member who is an Alumni Association member. Legacy Scholarships are funded through the K-State License Plate Program.

This scholarship can be applied for via the K-State Scholarship Network after you are admitted to the university.
