HLC Self-Study
Kansas State University has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association since 1916. Continued accreditation by the HLC is recognition that the academic and administrative programs and processes at K-State are aligned with the university mission, and that they meet certain quality standards.
K-State conducted a self-study of its programs and processes, in accordance with the criteria of accreditation as established by the HLC:
- Mission and Integrity
- Preparing for the Future
- Student Learning and Effective Teaching
- Acquisition, Discovery, and Application of Knowledge
- Engagement and Service
This self-study report is displayed at (http://www.k-state.edu/hlcstudy/selfstudy/). The self-study effort involved over 100 faculty, staff, and students from around the university. We submitted the self-study to the HLC in February 2012.
The HLC Accreditation visit took place from April 9-11, 2012. The following documents contain the formal notification of the action taken by the HLC and the full report from the HLC visiting team. The report details the visitation teams thoughts on our performance relative to the HLC standards. The letter documents that K-State was granted continued accreditation for 10 more years.
