Northwest Kansas business, technical and housing assistance

This collaborative work involves two projects that aim to bolster small businesses and address critical housing shortages in northwest Kansas. The work aims to increase housing availability, attract a skilled workforce and stimulate long-term economic growth across northwest Kansas.

Northwest Kansas business technical assistance

One part of the project establishes a consulting program to support Innovation Center and Network Kansas loan clients, as well as other businesses in the region, focusing on management challenges, expansion opportunities and succession planning.

Northwest Kansas housing assistance

Another part — the housing technical resources project — is a partnership with the Innovation Center to address the severe housing shortage in northwest Kansas. The project tackles workforce shortages by providing communities with essential tools and guidance, including the Housing Assessment Tool and support for forming Rural Housing Incentive Districts and accessing state funding. It also fosters local investment groups and encourages builders to become developers.
