As research explains, the sophomore year is often a pivotal moment in students’ development as they start to question their decision and doubt their initial plans1. These decisions can be as simple as what clubs they want to actively participate in all to what their major should be or if what they believe is still worth believing. Nothing is off the table in the “Focused Exploration” 1 and “Tentative Choice” 1 phases of sophomore year. Anecdotal data also tells us that any sophomore can struggle, even those who received a 4.0 their first year. It is our responsibility to help these students, and if we do it well, “[t]his can be the year in college when students determine their own direction, actively select their friends, identify what they want of their future, and begin to take ownership of their own learning experiences.”1

So what about you? We're here to support you through this transitional period to help you realize there's MORE to college. For different areas of transition, we have different recommends on how to explore with focus to come to tentative choices.
