Congratulations! You're about to take the next steps to discovering yourself and the world! The following steps will help guide you through the education abroad process. You have a lot to plan and many big decisions to make, but don't feel overwhelmed!

1. Attend Education Abroad 101
Education Abroad 101 is a general information session hosted by Education Abroad. Find out about programs options, scholarships, and get all your questions answered!

2. Learn about Our Programs
We offer hundreds of programs in over eighty countries, which vary by length, coursework, housing, and many other factors. Check out Learn about Our Programs to see which type of program is best for you.

Search Our Online Database
Once you’ve thought about the type of experience you want to have, search our online database to find the programs that fit your interests.

Browse by Major or Minor
We highly encourage you to consider an education abroad program that best fits your major or minor. When you browse by major or minor, you can download a Major/Minor Advising Program, or MAP, to provide you with basic information about education abroad programs, suggestions for faculty-led and exchange programs appropriate for your major or minor, and information about other relevant opportunities, scholarships, and financial aid.

Explore Past Student Experiences
Read testimonies of K-State students who have studied abroad to explore past student experiences and get a better idea of what you would like to study and where you would like to go.
3. Contact the Education Abroad Office
If you have any questions, or are ready to talk one-on-one about your options, make an appointment with an Education Abroad Advisor. You may call us at (785) 532-5990 or email the Education Abroad Advisor for your college directly.
4. Find Courses
Research available courses in your chosen program to find those you would like to take while abroad, if applicable. Begin your search with some hints and tips at Find Courses. If you are having difficulty finding courses abroad, contact your Education Abroad Advisor for assistance.
5. Contact Your Academic Advisor
Make an appointment with your Academic Advisor to discuss appropriate coursework abroad. Be prepared to share specific course descriptions with your Academic Advisor in order to complete an Academic Approval Form. If you plan to take any courses abroad for transfer credit, please be sure to read about the Academic Approval process.
