Bachelor's Degree in Entomology

B.S. in entomology; minor

Entomology is the study of insects, but also includes the study of other arthropods, such as spiders, ticks and mites. Insects are the most diverse and abundant macro-organisms on earth and have a great impact on nearly every aspect of our lives. Given this diversity, entomologists can focus on a wide range of areas, including disease transmission in plants, animals and humans; production and protection of food, feed and fiber; understanding and protecting biodiversity; and emerging fields like biosecurity and digital agriculture.

The K-State difference

Our students work with and learn from leading-edge scientists in animal health, digital agriculture, artificial intelligence, chemical ecology, molecular biology, stored products, biosecurity and biodiversity. The hands-on training in entomology allows students to explore career options and build experiences that enable them to be highly successful post graduation.

Did you know?

K-State Entomology leads in scientific advances, as we developed host-plant resistance, sequenced one of the first insect genomes, are the leader in insect RNAi, and are at the forefront of digital agriculture and artificial intelligence.
