The food science and industry degree prepares students for rewarding careers in food research, innovation, manufacturing, merchandising, inspection and allied industries. Our trained and talented graduates are in strong demand by leading companies who supply safe, high quality and innovative foods to meet domestic and global demand.

 

The K-State difference

K-State’s undergraduate program in food science and industry is nationally recognized and approved by the Institute of Food Technologists, a nonprofit scientific society with members who work in the industry, academia and government.

Students train in state-of-the-art laboratories and pilot plants with skilled faculty, researchers and lab technicians. The facilities include cereal and grain, dairy, meat and poultry, egg, thermal, extrusion, fermentation and value added processing/evaluation capabilities and sensory analysis.
