B.M.E in music education

K-State's outstanding program in music education offers authentic, hands-on experiences in teaching K-12 music — choral, instrumental and general — in the state of Kansas. In addition to classroom work, students have multiple opportunities to work with area K-12 schools to observe and participate in music classes.

Following successful completion of the program, graduates will be licensed to teach K-12 music in the state of Kansas.

 

The K-State difference

This program offers future music educators a program that focuses on authentic, hands-on experiences. Each semester, K-State music education students observe and participate in music classes at area schools. These experiences — combined with coursework, performance opportunities and mentoring — allow students to have an immediate effect on the music education profession.

The program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the National Association of Schools of Music.
