Inclusive Excellence Funding Request
The maximum amount of frequency of funding available: A presentation at a major conference, domestic or international, may include funding up to $1,000. For a meeting less than 100 miles from Kansas State University, the Office of Access and Opportunity may provide support for registration fees, up to $200, but not travel expenses. These maxima apply per paper, even if more than one employee/ student co-authors the paper.
A student who co-authors a paper with faculty is eligible to apply, as long as the student presents the paper at the conference, either in collaboration or without the co-author in attendance.
Only 1 request can be made every two years to ensure funding is available for ALL members of the Kansas State University community.
Inclusive Excellence funding provides financial support for programs and initiatives that advance institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities.
Incomplete applications or applications that do not meet the funding criteria will not be considered.
If you have questions, please contact Dr. Rana Johnson, Vice President, Office of Access and Opportunity at ranajohnson@ksu.edu.
Expectations
If your request for funding is approved, you will be encouraged to deliver a presentation to Kansas State University faculty, staff and/or students. This would be an opportunity for you to share information with campus constituents unable to travel to conferences/ leadership seminars/workshops, etc. Presentations are expected to be delivered 3-6 months after your return.
Funding Requests During Budget Reductions
Should Kansas State University experience a decrease in funding, as a result of campuswide budget cuts, requests for funding may be limited, approved on a case-by-case basis, or suspended until further notice.
