Accessible Parking on Campus

K-State Parking Services maintains over 300 conveniently located, accessible parking stalls, near all campus buildings and residence halls.

Students may pick up the official campus parking map from Parking Services. Much of the accessible parking is identified under "notes" on the right corner of the map. Parking on campus can be difficult, and so it is a good idea to "scout" good parking areas in advance and be aware that time of day and year can have a great impact on parking availability.

Accessible Parking Requirements

Students wishing to use accessible parking on campus must have (1) a clearly displayed, valid disability placard or license plate and (2) a clearly displayed, valid K-State Parking Permit.

Holders of K-State and State of Kansas permits for accessible parking may park in metered stalls at no charge, in timed, loading zones, and service stalls for as long as necessary at any time designated accessible parking is not available.

Visitors wishing to use accessible parking on campus must have (1) a clearly displayed, valid disability placard or license plate and (2) a clearly displayed, valid visitor's pass. Visitor's passes are available from Parking Services in the Parking Garage at the corner of Anderson Avenue and 17th.

Parking is not permitted in fire lanes, reserved stalls, yellow crosshatched areas or in a manner that impedes traffic. Under no circumstance should any person park a vehicle on sidewalks, grass, along the road, etc.

Where can I go to get a disabled parking placard?

Download an application for accessible parking or pick up a paper copy from the courthouse nearest you. It must be completed and signed by your physician, either for temporary injuries or permanent disabilities. In Manhattan, applications may be picked up and returned to the Treasurer's Office in the Riley County Courthouse (5th and Humboldt), 110 Courthouse Plaza, first floor, or call (785) 537-6320.
