Kansas State University has a unique partnership with our next-door neighbor, Manhattan C
hristian College (MCC), through our dual degree program. This program allows students to complete a bachelor’s degree in Bible from MCC while pursuing a separate degree at K-State at the same time. The dual degree program is a minimum five-year course of study that equips students with a biblical f
oundation coupled with a vocational education that enables them to go anywhere in the world to be leaders both in their communities and chosen professions.

Steps to Get Started
1. Explore dual degree options: Find the best fit for you to pair with a degree in Bible from MCC. While the dual degree program is available to all programs at K-State, we encourage you to consider one of our recommended pathways.
2. Complete the FAFSA: When filling out the FAFSA, students in the dual degree program should use MCC’s school code. All grants, loans, and other aid will be applied through MCC if the student chooses. You cannot have your federal aid at both MCC and K-State.

3. Apply for admission to MCC and K-State: Submit an application for admission for both schools from the website. Pay any applicable application fees.

4. Opt-in to the dual degree program: Once admitted, within your K-State Application Portal, complete the MCC Dual Degree Opt-In Form. This will indicate to us that you plan to pursue the dual degree option.
5. Complete the K-State Housing Exemption: Students in the dual degree program will be considered part-time at K-State and will be required to live on campus at MCC. You will need to complete the Part-Time Student Exemption Request from.
6. Register for K-State’s New Student Orientation: New Student Orientation is an opportunity for you to meet with an academic advisor to enroll in courses and receive the necessary information for a smooth start at K-State. Registration for fall New Student Orientation opens in March. When registering, make sure to select that you are a MCC dual degree student.

7. Enroll in classes at both MCC and K-State: From the start of your college career, you will be taking courses from BOTH institutions. In your first year, you will be required to enroll in a minimum of 3 credit hours at K-State while maintaining full-time enrollment at MCC.
8. Understand your scholarship options: Admitted students to K-State who are eligible for freshman scholarships may have their awards held until they are ready to enroll full-time (12 hours) at K-State. It is encouraged to work with the financial aid office at both institutions to determine the best use of scholarship awards.

- Enrollment and Coursework: Students must remain enrolled in the appropriate courses at both K-State and MCC to ensure progress toward completing the dual degree program.
- Transfer of Credits: Students should be aware that the transfer of appropriate credits between K-State and MCC will be facilitated as part of this program, but they are responsible for ensuring that they meet all necessary academic standards.
- Maintain Good Academic Standing: Students must maintain good academic standing according to the policies of both institutions to remain in the program.
- Adherence to Policies: Students are required to adhere to the academic and conduct policies of both K-State and MCC.
- Communication and Information Sharing: By participating in this program, students agree to allow K-State and MCC to share relevant academic and administrative information between the institutions to facilitate their academic progress and support services.

Responsibilities of Kansas State University (K-State)
- Degree Granting and Credit Transfer: K-State will ensure that appropriate credits earned by students at MCC are transferred and applied toward the completion of their degree at K-State.
- Academic Program Articulation: K-State is responsible for collaborating with MCC to improve the articulation of academic programs to ensure that students can smoothly transfer between the institutions and fulfill the requirements for earning degrees from both.
- Support Services: K-State will provide college-level support services to dual degree students, including academic advising, career services, and other relevant student support mechanisms.
- Resource Sharing: K-State agrees to efficiently use its resources in coordination with MCC to support the dual degree program and achieve the program's goals.
Responsibilities of Manhattan Christian College (MCC)
- Student Enrollment and Credit Transfer: MCC will enroll students in courses that are part of the dual degree program and ensure that the appropriate credits are transferable to K-State.
- Academic Program Collaboration: MCC is responsible for collaborating with K-State to enhance academic program articulation and ensure that students can fulfill the degree requirements for both institutions without unnecessary duplication of coursework.
- Support Services: MCC will offer college-level support services similar to those provided by K-State, such as academic advising and access to student resources that support the students' progress in the dual degree program.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I transfer into the dual degree program?
Yes, transfer students are able to participate in the dual degree program. We recommend you connect with a member of the K-State Transfer Team (transfer@k-state.edu) to discuss the best options for you.
When will I receive my K-State scholarships?
Students actively participating in the dual degree program will typically begin receiving K-State scholarships once they switch to attending K-State full-time. However, every student has unique circumstances, so we recommend working closely with the Office of Student Financial Assistance to understand your options.
How will I know what courses I should take?
We recommend working closely with both your advisor at MCC and K-State from day one to create a long-term plan to complete the dual degree program.
Can I do the dual degree online?
No, students pursuing the dual degree program must attend K-State at the Manhattan campus.
