Why he chose K-State:

I chose K-State because I was overwhelmed by the way that everyone here makes you feel like you are family. Also, I thought that it gave me the best opportunity for my future.

How he transitioned to K-State:

For me, the transition was harder than I had thought. I even spent two years at Junior College. But, with studying more, and having to section your time out properly, it became difficult. It is different for every student, as I have learned, so I found out it just takes time to adapt in your own way.

Why he chose his major:

My dream is to work in the NBA and with being a basketball manager and being interested in how the money and business portion of basketball works, I figured organizational management was the major for me. A lot of students feel like they have to have everything decided when they enter college, but I didn’t figure out what I wanted to do until a month before my Junior year started.

Chase's favorite class:

My favorite class, by far, has been Sports Marketing 630 with Doug Walker. His class is so involved, and it is filled with people that have the same dreams and aspirations as me. We have guest speakers come in and educate the class on what they do, and how to get involved. The best part about the class is that it is so laid back, it’s almost like you’re just hanging out with a bunch of other people who want to educate themselves on what they have a dream of doing.

Advice for incoming freshmen:

Every student should try and talk to their professors as much as possible. If you have questions, or want help, they are there to do so. A lot of students feel as if they can’t or won’t get anywhere because of how big the class sizes are.

Get involved. It seems like a lot of the time you stick with your friend group or you are busy working, so you think you won’t have time. A big part of why I came to K-State is because of the way everyone tries to get to know you and how open the whole spectrum is getting involved socially.
