At Kansas State University, you will find a commitment to promoting a welcoming environment in every sector of the university. Everyone is supported through multicultural programs, intercultural learning and academic success, & multicultural student life initiatives.

Student Belonging's mission is to provide leadership in buiding a supportive campus climate that promotes a sense of belonging for all K-State students, faculty, staff, and the greater campus community.

The office works with key units throughout the university, corporate sponsors, and communities across the State of Kansas to address issues and enhance all backgrounds by way of programming, student support, and advocacy.

We support our mission by:

  • Develop strategies to facilitate the recruitment, retention and graduation rates of students by providing access and service to all.
  • Provide scholarship opportunities for students, because we know that opportunity is often the first step toward student success.
  • Provide support for multicultural student organizations and leadership development of students of a variety of unique backgrounds, perspectives, and viewpoints.
  • Provide programming and activities that augment classroom learning and have cultural relevancy that enrich and deepen the conversations we have with each other.
  • Provide links to external constituency groups.
  • Provide leadership and direction for university-wide and cabinet level committees, forums, and workgroups.
  • Work with college committees to address issues and ensure all people feel welcomed and supported.
  • Provide conflict resolution when needed.
  • Address problem situations pertaining to K-State's mission of providing educational access and service for all.
