Cadence is the first and only a cappella group on the Kansas State University campus. Members of the ensemble like to sing barbershop, popular music, oldies, and doo-wop. Cadence is currently a 14-man ensemble, with three voices per part, one swing voice and a beat boxer. The ensemble's make-up changes yearly due to graduating seniors and incoming freshmen. Tryouts for Cadence are held during the first several of weeks of the fall semester.

2008 commemorated Cadence's 10-year anniversary on the K-State Campus. In 1998, the ensemble was founded by a small group of students who loved to sing. It has become a popular staple among K-State students. The men of Cadence come from many different majors which include engineering, journalism and construction science to name a few.

Cadence performs at various events throughout the year, ranging from sorority luncheons, K-State alumni reunions, birthdays, senior days, banquets of honorary societies, as well as weddings among many others.
