Marketing Intern

The Career Center facilitates the career readiness of all students in the K-State community. We help students explore their interests and values, develop their potential through internships and involvement, teach them to tell their story through resumes and interviews, and connect them with employers and opportunities. We offer individual advising, assessments, workshops, career classes, and events that help clients explore majors and careers, develop job search strategies, and make direct links to employers interested in hiring K-State students.

We are seeking a candidate to lead efforts to increase the awareness of the Career Center among students and the university community. The ideal candidate will design and develop both print and social media materials that promote the Career Center brand, programming, services, and resources. The individual will manage integrated communications efforts across traditional and emerging media platforms.

Qualifications:
-Strong organization and planning skills
-Good attention to detail
-Strong problem solving skills
-Self-motivated, proactive and team-oriented attitude
-Experience with social media platforms and digital marketing
-Creative mindset and storytelling abilities
-Strong graphic design abilities
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Direct experience with Adobe Software (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) and Canva

Responsibilities:

-Collaborate with Career Center colleagues and Division of Student Affairs and Academic Success marketing team to effectively promote and brand K-State Career Center
-Create and develop graphics, layouts, visual ads, and logos for Career Center events and publications
-Assist with planning and developing digital content to include social media content, digital signage, web graphics, videos and animations, and career center newsletter
-Build social media posting timelines for university-wide and college specific events
-Develop creative social media campaigns
-Deliver content via Facebook, Instagram and other digital platforms
-Attend events as possible for live broadcasting and posting?
-Compile analytics and assess effectiveness of campaigns
-Additional responsibilities: Participate in staff meetings, team projects and other planning
activities.

The employee will provide additional services assigned by the Marketing Manager

Hourly wage: $10.00

Conditions of Appointment: Flexible scheduling of 12-15 hours per week, with the option of in-person work or remote work (must be able to work over the summer and through the academic year)
