2019 Career Center Cookout
Plan to attend the Career Center Cookout
The K-State Career Center invites new and returning students to start their fall semester with a free cookout at the Berney Family Welcome Center.
Part of K-State’s Week of Welcome, the cookout will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, on the Welcome Center's north lawn, located on the east side of Memorial Stadium.
Students can stop by the event to enjoy lunch sponsored by Cox Bros. BBQ and meet their career advisor, who can help them explore major and career options, develop career-readiness skills, build a resume, prepare for interviews and more. Several employers have been invited as well to visit with students about internships and part- and full-time employment.
Also at the cookout, students who activate or update their online Handshake account will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last. Handshake is a helpful app used to apply for internship, part-time and full-time positions, and serves as a resource to find employer contacts and view who is recruiting on campus.
The Career Center facilitates the career readiness of all students throughout the K-State community. It offers an extensive career library, job search training, career advising, employer connections, free assessments for exploring majors and careers, and a staff dedicated to assisting students in the career development process.
