Explore Majors and Careers
Feeling some uncertainty about your academic or career paths? You can meet with peer Career Specialists to take advantage of free career assessments and resources designed to help you feel confident in your career decisions. These assessments help identify interests and strengths, guiding you toward potential majors and career options.
Gain Experience
K-State emphasizes the importance of experiential learning in all of its many forms. Students are encouraged to develop their full potential through part-time jobs, internships, volunteering, campus involvement and more. These experiences not only enhance your resume but also build transferrable skillsets for future work. Visit with your career advisor to search for opportunities that will help you take the next step in your career journey.
Apply and Interview
Preparing for the job market is a critical step, so we want to make sure you put your best foot forward. The Career Center offers resources to help students craft compelling resumes, practice interviewing, and develop their personal brand. Services include resume critiques, mock interviews, and guidance on articulating your strengths effectively. Make an appointment with your career advisor, or drop by the Studio – Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

We know that networking with recruiters can feel intimidating, but we are here to support you in that process! Building connections with potential employers is facilitated through various events and platforms. The Career Center hosts a variety of career fairs and networking events, providing you with opportunities to meet prospective employers. - Career Closet: Students can access professional attire suitable for interviews, internships and career events. All clothing is gently used and graciously donated by the K-State community. Stop by to shop the Career Closet Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., no appointment needed.
- Professional Photos: The Iris photo booth allows students to take professional photos for use in portfolios or on professional networking sites. Receive your photos in your inbox within minutes! Say cheese with Iris Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., no appointment needed.
- Handshake: Handshake is the Career Center’s recruiting and career services platform for K-State students, alumni and employers. Search for career opportunities, attend virtual and in-person events, register for career fairs, and schedule appointments with Career Center staff – all in one place!
