Career Fairs
Each year, participant feedback suggests that faculty encouragement and/or class assignments are among the top reasons that students show up for career fairs. Here are ways you can support student involvement--
- Encourage the use of the Studio for resume critiques and other career fair preparation. Many resources are also available on the Career Center's website.
- Provide extra credit for participating in the career fair. Use the Career Center's ready-made class assignment to create a meaningful learning experience.
- Assign the career fair in place of class time. Provide the Career Center with a roster and we can verify student attendance.
- Accompany your class to the career fair. Help get them oriented after check-in and/or introduce them to alumni who are attending the fair.
- Offer flexibility for students' time out of class when reasonable. Help students learn that with advance planning and communication, some scheduling adjustments are possible.
