Chemical Engineering
Chemical Engineering is an extraordinarily broad discipline that is applied in industries as diverse as energy, food processing, specialty chemicals, consumer products, biotechnology, environmental engineering and microelectronics. Chemical engineers design, develop and manufacture new materials, products and processes that enhance our quality of life.
Fun Fact
Chemical Engineering began in 1924 at Kansas State. The first Bachelor in Science degree in Chemical Engineering was subsequently awarded in 1926. In 1927, the first professor of Chemical Engineering, Dr. W.F. Brown, joined the faculty.
