None. I always wanted to go into finance. I did, however, spend three semesters back in Emporia, KS, my hometown, and attend Emporia State University.

Financial planning seemed like a good career and I enjoyed working with numbers, therefore, I chose Finance.

I worked various part-time jobs throughout my career as a student and tried my best to study and achieve grades.

I got out of college and started looking at different financial firms and was offered financial planner jobs by several.

I do everything from entering info into our planning software, evaluate funds in 401k's and other outside accounts, look at tax returns, meet with clients and numerous other things related to personal finance.

We work in an art gallery and the art changes every couple of months, so the scenery is always changing.

Began my career selling life insurance, got divorced, moved to San Diego with my ex-wife, got remarried and came back and found Buttonwood.

Not really. I worked all throughout college. Now I just don't have to go to class.

Asked my best friend since high school to marry me and she said, "Yes." Twice!

Participate in as many seminars, speeches, groups or clubs as you can. I did not do as many as I could have and regret it.

My other best friend, Addie. We moved from Emporia to Manhattan together without knowing hardly anyone and it turned out to be the best thing we could have done.

What the career path actually looked like - had I known that my first job would progress the way it did, I would have taken my time and researched more on the company and the actual job.
