Molecular and Cellular Biology Core
CEZID’s Molecular Cellular Biology Core provides imaging and flow cytometry services to junior researchers and scientists within the region. MCB Core services include DNA sequencing, CRISPR technology, and cell sorting capabilities. MCB Core support for bioinformatics and handling of large DNA sequencing datasets will be provided by the KSU Bioinformatics Center.
The MCB Core makes available flow cytometry services enabling researchers to tag cell populations to detect and analyze their characteristics with the ability to sort the tagged cells.
The MCB Core’s next-generation sequencing process facilitates and enhances the researcher’s ability to gather genetic information from samples in a high-throughput manner.
The MCB Core also offers confocal microscopy, a powerful optical imaging technology that increases the optical resolution and contrast of a micrograph.

Flow Cytometry Lab:
The Flow Cytometry laboratory is housed in Mosier Hall, Room K208 of the College of Veterinary Medicine Complex. This multi-user core laboratory is equipped with state of the art flow cytometry analyzers by Becton Dickinson (LSR Fortessa X-20 and FACSCalibur), and a multiplex MagPix instrument.
