How does Kansas State University respond of discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment?

PPM 3010

Respondent Options:

  • As a respondent in a case involving sexual violence or another VAWA-related crime (Title IX), the individual has the right to choose or ask for a support person during the intake process. This support person may accompany the respondent to an intake meeting or for process questions. A support person (for students) is likely to be a staff member from the CARE Office or Student Support and Accountability.

In the event a Title IX case moves to an investigation, the respondent will be provided with an advisor. Respondents can choose to select their own advisor as well. If a respondent chose their own advisor, this will be at their own expense. Advisors provided by the University are from an external agency contracted by OCR & TIX.

  • If you are named a respondent, you will be given due process to respond to allegations either written or verbally. If you participate in the Title IX proceedings and are found responsible for allegations, you have the right to appeal the outcome on specified grounds. For more specific details, please see PPM 3010.
