Catalog Deadlines
Fall Catalog
All approvals must be completed/finalized no later than June 1st in order to be reflected in the catalog for the Fall term. Approvals received after the June 1st deadline will move to the next available option.
Changes to current programs will only be reflected in the Fall Catalog and will only be coded in the Degree Audit system for fall terms.
Spring Catalog
All NEW program approvals must be completed/finalized no later than October 31st in order to be reflected in the catalog for the Spring term. Approvals received after the October 31st deadline will move to the next available option.
Changes to current programs are not an option for Spring Catalogs and can only be reflected for a Fall start. This will reflect in a Fall catalog and will only be coded in the Degree Audit system for fall terms.
Effective Date: a new course, program, degree must be approved through all University Channels and if applicable, KBOR before it can be offered, created in applicable university systems, added to the University catalog, publications or listed on the students’ academic record (transcripts).
Note: Although a final approval may occur by a deadline allowing for publication in the fall or spring catalog, it is important to know that a new program or degree may be passed established recruitment or admissions cycles and processes for the next available term.
(e.g., New program/degree is approved on June 1, 2021 and eligible for the Fall 2021 catalog – the recruitment cycle for undergraduate and graduate programs actually occurred 8-15 months prior to the fall 2021 semester start. Most admissions decision and registration processes have occurred or are in the final weeks before semester start. So although the program/degree is eligible to print in the fall 2021 catalog that does not mean that other processes have started or can start earlier than the final approvals.)
