Xiang ChenXiang Chen | Director, Data Governance & Policy
Xiang Chen, the inaugural Director of Data Governance and Policy at K-State University, strategically aligns the university's Data Governance Program with its goals to enhance operational and academic excellence. She oversees the safe and collaborative use of institutional data, promoting data-driven decision-making across the university. Xiang chairs the Data Governance Stewards Committee, leads the development of comprehensive data policies, and manages the program’s planning, development, and operation. Her responsibilities include enhancing data architecture, managing data quality, Master Data Management (MDM), Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes, data security, privacy, and lifecycle governance. She works with key data sources such as Snowflake, SQL data marts, core Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (HR, Finance, Student), and Microsoft Power BI.
