Data Governance Committees

At K-State University, we understand the critical importance of effective data management in today's rapidly evolving educational landscape. Our Data Governance Steering Committee and Data Governance Steward Committee play integral roles in overseeing and advancing our data governance initiatives.

Data Governance Steering Committee

The Data Governance Steering Committee comprises designated officials who are tasked with strategic planning, policy-making, and overall management of data within their respective areas. This committee plays a vital role in ensuring the effective management of data across the university by making policy recommendations, establishing procedures and standards, advocating for resources, and guiding data governance efforts.

Data Governance Steward Committee

The Data Governance Steward Committee is composed of Institutional Data Stewards and Data System Stewards from various domains across the university. This committee is responsible for implementing and maintaining effective data stewardship practices. It may create temporary working groups or task forces to address specific data-related challenges and ensure the consistent and reliable management of data throughout the university.
