What we do...

At Kansas State University, the Enterprise Data Warehouse team plays a pivotal role in managing institutional data. We lead the development, management, and maintenance of university data warehouses to ensure the integrity and accessibility of critical data assets. A data warehouse serves as a centralized repository that integrates and consolidates extensive datasets from diverse sources. Equipped with analytical tools, it enables organizations to extract valuable business insights, enhancing decision-making processes.

Collaborating closely with the Institutional Research team, Assessment team, Data Governance team, Division of Information Technology (IT) team, and other university business areas, we assess institutional data needs and deliver data as a product. This involves modeling data to facilitate self-service analytics, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions.

Delivering Data as a Product:

  • Develop a roadmap for delivering data as a product.
  • Collaborate with data consumers to gather business requirements and curate datasets.
  • Facilitate automation of data submissions for IPEDS and external surveys.
  • Work with DAIR teams to provide consumption-ready datasets, reducing data management overhead.
  • Store and model recurring survey data for longitudinal analysis.
  • Establish data quality standards in collaboration with data producers and consumers.
  • Implement user-friendly naming conventions and definitions to enhance data accessibility.
